As the holidays approach, I’m beginning to look forward to quiet family time. Yes, we’ve had a lot of family time already these past eight months, but we’ve been talking about what we can do to just enjoy our holiday time together. A lot of that talk has been about food! This simple rustic plum pie is a great way to enjoy a homemade treat without major kitchen clean up.

Easy Rustic Plum Pie
Christmas Eve for us is usually a party with our church family. We provide the meal and our guest bring appetizers and desserts.
That means, I don’t usually have to prepare those. Even though we do always have Christmas cookies, guests bring cakes and pies and other special desserts.
So this year we will have to make our own dessert. When I found this simple recipe for plum pie, I knew we had to try it.
Plus, I had plums waiting to be used up.
Pie crust, sugar and plums. That’s all you need! Peaches, pears and apples could easily be substituted for the plums.
Yes, a homemade pie crust would make this even better, but sometimes it’s good to be able to throw something homemade together quickly, and not spend hours in the kitchen.
Not only is this a simple easy recipe, but a plum pie would be great to take to a party (when that’s the thing to do again, lol) or even drop off to a family to enjoy this season.
A tip I learned after making my first one… bake it on parchment paper. Not only is clean up easier, but transferring it from the baking sheet to a serving plae is as well.
