Winter is not my season. So when spring begins to roll in, I’m one happy lady. Despite my lack of a green thumb, I always love seeing the daffodils and other spring flowers poking out of the ground. Going to a lighter jacket or even no jacket makes me a much more pleasant person. Blue skies, flowers, birds chirping… seriously, I could go on, but it all makes me so much happier. As the spring season approaches, the Home Matters Linky Party gang thought it was high time we shared some fresh and beautiful spring season inspiration! #SpringSeason #HomeMattersParty
Spring Season
Having a birthday in May, you’d think that spring was my favorite season. It’s actually summer. But, spring brings me that much closer to summer and often has so many beautiful days that can even feel like summer. I’m ready to throw open the windows and let the spring season into our house after the cold winter. Today’s collection is random things that make me happy in the spring.
After bundling up all winter, I’m always ready for lighter weight spring clothes. Try as I might, I haven’t been able to focus on a capsule wardrobe. I often plan on it and do try to only buy things I can mix and match, but I struggle to get rid of things I don’t wear too often. Capsule wardrobes are still so inspiring to me.

I don’t have much of a green thumb but every spring I have the desire to plant a garden. Someday I would love to be able to have a host of fruits and vegetables readily available straight from my backyard garden. Maybe if I win the lottery and have a gardener it’ll eventually happen! Until then, I’ll still be drawn to planting guides.

Spring also means lighter meals. Less time over a hot stove and more time enjoying the sunshine. With three kids on three different lacrosse teams, evenings get pretty busy in the spring. Having a yummy salad in the fridge means each of us can eat when we can. Spring frequently means less nightly family dinners, but I still like to provide nutritious homemade dinners for everyone and salads are a great way to do that.

With snow still on the ground and in the forecast, I got a jump start on the spring season with a new wreath for the front door. I used to say wreathes were not in my craft set, but, I think I’m finally starting to get the hang of them!
