The 25 Days of Christmas Movies Blog Hop is one of my favorite Christmas events. This year I selected my favorite Christmas movie, Miracle on 34th Street, and my “We Believe” Santa Letter envelope. Miracle on 34th Street

Last year I crocheted Buddy the Elf, and worked on it while watching the movie. I knew when I selected the movie I wanted to make a crocheted Buddy. This year, I didn’t know what my project was going to be!

Miracle on 34th Street has always been my favorite Christmas movie. Unfortunately, it isn’t my kids so I usually end up watching it by myself. I like both versions but especially love the original.

My favorite part is when the bags of mail are brought into the courtroom all addressed to Santa.

It gets me every time!

But it wasn’t until I got to that part of the movie that I had a clue as to what my project would be this year.

We Believe Santa Letter

I’ve been having fun making projects using the photo transfer technique my friend Lara taught me. She and I even started offering personalized handcrafted photo ornaments in the Domestic Deadline Market (pst… $10 off with code BlackFriday).

Make a personalized gift for someone special! A photo wood transfer is a memoral gift and not just for Christmas but year round. Or order a personalized ornament with your own photo, ready to give in a cloth gift bag. www.domesticdeadline.com

So I made up the image I wanted and flipped it, all in PicMonkey.

I started with a Dollar Tree Christmas sign, like my Christmas Countdown.

And painted the back with white chalk paint. Inspired by Miracle on 34th Street, We Believe Santa letter envelope Christmas wall hanging. Plus 24 more Christmas movie inspired projects www.domesticdeadline.comIt took a few coats to get an even finish.

I love how it turned out even though the Santa stamp wore off a bit.

  1. Hi Emily! I've been wanting to try this photo transfer technique, and you've given me the inspiration. I love the rustic look it has on wood. Great project! I'm happy to be blog hopping with you for the Christmas movie season. :)
