Snappy Scrappy Bags
I’ve made these several times over the years. Because of that, I didn’t really think about taking pictures along the way (remember, focused on big house projects!). The secret to making the snap closure is a retractable tape measure. The first time I made these, I was able to use a broken one. I’ve actually made enough of these to have needed to purchase a new tape measure just for these. These worked up really quick since I had already pieced the fabric together. In one of the previous challenges, I shared my quick crazy quilt for fabric de-stash. Sometimes when I feel like sewing and don’t have an actual project in mind, I’ll stash bust through a scrap bin. Then, when I want to make something like these, it becomes a super fast project. Of course, this is a great project using scrap fabric that is big enough to be only one or two fabrics. Sometimes I make these little bags with a bit of fusible fleece and line in another fabric (or pieced fabric) and sometimes I line them with felt. I don’t remember the tutorial I originally followed to make these, but I did find this tutorial which is similar to how I make my snappy scrappy bags. I think I might need to make some with a ruffle now! Now, let’s see what everyone made for the challenge!Craft Room De-Stash Challenge
