This month I’m sharing something I’ve been working on for a few months now… a big pile of crocheted hats! It’s a bit of a cross between stash-busting, Pinterest Challenge, keeping my hands busy when watching TV or waiting someplace… Basically, I can’t sit still so I carry crochet projects with me, crocheted hats are great for this.

Crocheted Hats
There is always yarn in my purse and a project bag in my car. I’ve actually been known to take my project bag with me and forget my purse!
Frequently, I have a specific project or custom order I’m working on. Maybe something I’m making as a gift or even for myself… but, not always.
Years ago I made lots of character hats and always had a few hats in progress. I got to the point where I could make the base of the hat in about a half hour. Once I burned out of those, I haven’t really made hats in a few years.
But this year past winter I’ve been seeing so many fun hats, using lots of different stitches and sometimes pompoms. It was time to start keeping hats in the works. But this time instead of working from the top of the hat down, I tried working from the brim up.
I didn’t follow any specific pattern, just made the brim and played with different stitches. There were too many things I liked on Pinterest to pick just one!
Using whatever yarn I had. I love adding the pom poms, especially since they can be unsnapped for washing!
Working from my stash, I played with changing colors.
I just finished another one while sitting in a meeting last night. I’ve sold some via a Facebook group and plan on working on the patterns for the ones I like the most.
This is only a small pile of all the ones I’ve made over the past few weeks.

We both shared a crocheted hat tutorial this month. Great minds think alike, right? I love the multi-colored yarn you’ve used. It almost looks like the hat were crocheted from moss, and other nature fibres. LOVE!

Do you also have an etsy or Amazon account to sell your hats? Love the different patterns and colors you used. Really like that the pom-pom can be removed to not just wash but to give the hat a different look if you wanted. Hmmm…am thinking about Habiba’s messy bun hat and your pom-poms. If only the two could meet (lol).
I have an Etsy shop, but haven’t had the time to put things in it! I do have a group on FB I post things and sell some.
