I’m officially embracing buffalo check this fall. Once I added the buffalo check layered doormat, I knew it was the perfect way to incorporate my favorite color and still have a festive fall look. Today I thought I’d share a super simple fall wreath that brings in all the hot elements of fall!
Basic Wreath
A while ago I scored a boxwood wreath, complete with lights! I thought it would be perfect to use as is or dress up for different holidays on my front door.
Until I got home and realized the lights needed to be plugged in! Not exactly front door friendly. No wonder it was on clearance!
The lights were easily removable so I was still able to salvage the boxwood wreath.
Once I put my buffalo check doormat out and layered it with my DIY Pumpkin Doormat, I decided to run with the buffalo check on the front porch.
Ribbon and Fall Picks
With a classic wreath, it’s so simple to add some ribbon and fall picks to customize to your own decor taste!
This roll of buffalo check ribbon will probably come more in handy than I expected!
I picked up some burlap leaves and pumpkin wreath picks at my local Dollar Tree. A quick coat of chalk paint and my pumpkins were white instead of bright orange!
I found these pretty fall wreath picks if you aren’t in the mood to paint before making a wreath!
Hang and Decorate
I’ve made wreaths starting with a pool noodle. Those tend to need some space and extra time.
This wreath, however, worked up so quickly, it was easiest to hang the wreath on the door and decorate!
I simply wrapped the ribbon around the wreath and stuck the leaves and pumpkin picks in where I wanted them! The leaves have wire stems, I twisted them around the wreath a bit to make sure they were secure.
Fall Front Porch Decor
When I stumbled upon $5.00 outdoor pillows at Walmart the look was complete… minus some real pumpkins! I’ll add those in another week or two, I don’t want to start feeding the squirrels and chipmunks too soon!
Not only am I loving how great my front porch is looking right now, IronFish was impressed! After 2 weeks traveling for work, he said it looked great pulling into the driveway.
