With all the projects I’ve been working on for the 12 Days of Christmas, I’m really getting into the Christmas spirit much earlier than I normally do! And while my craft room is in total disarray, I might as well keep going with the Christmas craft projects. After all, it looks like Santa’s workshop exploded in there! So, for today’s Craft Room Destash Challenge, I’m sharing these super easy rustic twine ornaments.
Rustic Twine Ornaments
A few years ago I updated some ornaments that no longer went with my Christmas decor. Wrapping the old ornaments in crocheted chains resulted in a faux knit Christmas ornament.
I love how these ornaments bring texture and cohesiveness to my tree. Using the 10-12 ornaments I no longer loved was a great start. This year I want to continue to add more rustic elements to the overall look of the tree. My goal is for the tree to fit perfectly into the decor of the house, but still have our memory ornaments make a statement.
At some point, I picked up several inexpensive (aka Dollar Tree) ornaments. Originally, I thought I’d make more knit ones. Then I found the balls of twine I don’t remember buying in my craft room!
Seriously, this is barely a tutorial…
Hot glue and wrap… that’s it!
I’m unintentionally on the buffalo check wagon… I didn’t mean to jump on the trend, but black and white check is just so classic. And it works for so much.
Once all my ornaments were wrapped, I decided to add some buffalo check ribbon.
Using more hot glue, I wrapped the middle of a piece of ribbon to form a bow. And glued in place. I can’t wait to see how these look with my knit ornaments and my rustic garland lights.
Craft Room Destash
Every month a group of bloggers are challenged by C'mon Get Crafty to create a new craft or project from their own stash of goodies! Everyone is allowed a $10 allowance for necessities to complete their project (i.e. paint brushes, glue, etc), but the bulk of it must be created from their own stash of goodies.
Let's meet this month's bloggers!!
