Today I have another Christmas in July group sharing ideas. Part of my summer at home goals is to get my craft room under control. As I organized and clean up areas, I find supplies for projects I planned on doing and never got to. I knew I had purchased tons of wood shapes to make ornaments so when I got to that box, it was perfect timing to make personalized ornaments for Christmas in July.
Personalized Ornaments
Starting with blank wood shapes and an afternoon painting and staining resulted in the ornament bases for this project.
When I sit down to Cricut Design Space, I like to see the full picture. Often I will create an image of what my final project will look like, even if it’s only the wording I need.
Personalized ornaments is a great project for heat press vinyl.
Once I started working with heat press vinyl, I quickly discovered how valuable a light pad would be! (pst, as of post time, there is a 20% off coupon available!)
With everything lined up the way I wanted, simply pressing the vinyl in place between some Teflon and a pressing pad.
After I originally purchased my Cricut Maker, I swore I wasn’t going to have another large craft machine investment. Totally broke that promise to myself when the Easy Press Mini came out! For now, it’s enough for me but I’m sure eventually I’ll end up getting a larger one.
Now all the personalized ornaments need is for me to drill a hole and add a ribbon for hanging!
Not only do I plan on getting ahead with some gifts, but it’s another personalized product I’m going to be adding to my Etsy and Domestic Deadline Market shops!
Check out my previous Christmas in July post with personalized family name signs.
