We ordered a new Christmas tree this year. Due to allergies, we have to go with artificial. But, we now have a 9-foot pre-lit tree for our 10-foot living room. It’s not decorated yet, but that’s on the plan for this weekend. That, and continuing to make new ornaments for the tree! My friend Lara and I have been having so much fun making custom photo ornaments not only for ourselves, or families, but now our customers!

It’s Day 6 and we are sharing DIY Ornament Ideas!
Photo Transfers
I’ll admit, I’ve gotten on a little carried away with my Mod Podge Transfer Medium. My friend Lara, who is a great photographer, taught me how she does photo transfers to display her pictures. They make great gifts, by the way.
So, I decided to use the process on some of my other Christmas projects. Using wording and flipping the image, I made my Christmas countdown.
And an envelope to Santa inspired by the Miracle on 34th Street.
Custom Photo Ornaments
But my favorite project has been making custom photo ornaments.
All of these projects have used the same process as the photo wood transfer DIY gift. Lara and I enjoyed making them so much, we decided to add them to the Domestic Deadline Shop as our first physical product (everything else has been digital products).
We only had a certain number of the wooden discs we used to make the ornaments. So, we originally limited the number we could sell and had a Black Friday promotion.
But, we were able to get more wooden discs! Above is my niece, Vive, Lara’s dog Jade and my Tasha in black and white.
We know how much people love to be able to give a handcrafted gift to a loved one. But, we also know not everyone has the ability or the time to make something personal to give, especially during the busy holiday season.
So, we are offering $10 off per ornament for the next two weeks. Using the code 12DAYSOFCHRISTMAS, we are able to use your picture to handcraft your ornament. Plus we have a few options of ways to customize your ornament with a bow or package or a Christmas phrase. Your picture can be done in color or black and white. We will even personalize the back with a name and the year!
