Day 9… Christmas wreaths. Um, ok, I need to admit something… I’m not good at making wreaths. As many crafts and home decor projects as I love doing, making wreaths is not one of them. It’s why I went super simple with the mini wreaths I made for my kitchen. Too afraid I’d make them look tacky instead of pretty! But, what I lack in wreath style, I make up for with quantity!

Light Up Wreath
I have been on the lookout for a huge wreath, something with battery operated lights and a remote to hang outside. Since I haven’t found what I want, in my price range, I decided to go for quantity.
The front of our house has 6 large windows. JuneBug and IronFish are in charge of the exterior Christmas lights. Inside I have all white lights, but outside they used all multi-colored lights. I wanted to stay consistent with their exterior choice.
Inexpensive 20″ wreaths and 20-count LED lights from Walmart times six.
Simply weaving the lights into the wreath (and fluffing it up) is all I needed to do. Using a length of pipe cleaner, I attached the battery pack to the back of the wreath.
Using the same ribbon and Command Hooks as my mini wreaths, I hung them from the inside of my windows.
The lights have the option of on, off, or timer. Timer setting is six hours on and 18 hours off. The kids and I set them off at 5:30 so they will automatically go off at 11:30 at night.
Now we have some festivity on the other side of the house.
I need to check out the hop and figure out what to make for the front door!
