Car decals are one of the easiest ways to customize your ride, show off your personality, or get a good laugh from strangers at stoplights. This month’s SVG Design Squad theme is Car Decals, and I couldn’t resist making something perfect for wildlife lovers (or in my case professional squirrel swerver’s).

About the “I Break for Squirrels” Design
Whether you’ve braked suddenly for an actual squirrel or you just tend to overreact to rogue acorns, this decal adds humor to your car without being overly busy or hard to cut. I have an oak tree in my front lawn, so just backing out of my driveway requires dodging squirrels!
This design works great for cars because it’s simple shapes for clean cuts, even in smaller sizes. The one-color design makes it easy to apply to windows, bumpers, or other sticker appropriate places. Works great with permanent adhesive vinyl and cuts beautifully with cutting machines like Cricut, Silhouette, or Sizer.
Recommended Supplies
- Cutting Machine like Silhouette or Cricut
- Cutting Mat
- Weeding Tools
- Weeding Scrap Collector
- Permanent Vinyl and Transfer Tape
- Scraper or squeegee
- Rubbing alcohol (for cleaning the surface) – I like these individual use pads

- Notebooks
- Garage storage bins (because why not?)
Basic Application Steps
- Download the SVG from the Freebie Library.
- Upload it into your preferred cutting software.
- Cut the design from permanent vinyl.
- Weed away the excess vinyl.
- Apply transfer tape and burnish with the squeegee.
- Clean your glass surface with rubbing alcohol.
- Transfer the decal to your car window or bumper.
- Burnish again with the squeegee and peel off transfer tape.
