If you’re officially in your gardening era, this one’s for you! This month’s SVG Design Squad theme is Gardening, and I created a retro-inspired design that says “In My Gardening Era” surrounded by simple flower accents. If you’re looking for free gardening SVG files, this design is ready to download and use with your Cricut, Silhouette, or other cutting machine.
Why “In My Gardening Era”?
There’s something about gardening season that feels like a reset. The weather warms up, things start growing again, and suddenly we’re outside planting, watering, and rearranging pots like it’s our full personality.
So I leaned into that feeling… Even though I have a green thumb!
This design uses a retro bubble font style paired with a few flowers to keep it playful and seasonal. It works beautifully for spring projects, but honestly, it’s perfect any time you’re deep in your gardening routine. And the great thing about an SVG is you can use any colors you want. I think the flowers would be really fun in puff vinyl.
Recommended Supplies
- Cutting Machine like Silhouette or Cricut
- Electrostatic Mat (Silhouette) or Cutting Mat (Cricut)
- Weeding Tools
- Weeding Scrap Collector
- HTV Vinyl or Permanent Vinyl
- Heat Press (My preference when using HTV)
How You Can Use These Free Gardening SVG Files
One of my favorite things about gardening SVG files is how flexible they are. You can use this design for:
- T-Shirt – I love making a t-shirt for myself or a friend, this is my favorite brand. A sweatshirt would also be good for those early spring days in the garden
- Garden Overalls – how cute would this be on a pair of overalls for that person who’s always digging in the dirt?
- Tumbler or Mug – Use permanent vinyl on a coffee mug for that person who is always cold and enjoys starting their day with coffee in their garden.
- Tote Bag – For garden tools or for crocheting flowers! I have a huge collection of tote bags full of crochet WIPs and I love when the design on the outside easily makes me know what project is inside.
Because the lettering is bold and rounded, it cuts well in both vinyl and HTV. If you’re working with paper, you can also layer the flowers for added dimension. Plus the flowers and leaves are all separate pieces so you can layer and move around however you like
