I’m managing to keep myself very busy while staying home and flattening the curve. Not everyone has as many craft supplies and hobbies as I do, so I thought this would be the perfect time to start making crochet how-to videos. This is the first step in learning to crochet. The crochet chain is the foundation for most crochet projects. Once you master the chain, stitches come next. Are you ready to learn to crochet?
Learning New Skills
I’m a homebody most of the time and enjoy being home. There are very few crafts I’ve met that I didn’t like. Some, I enjoy more than others.
Like crocheting.
My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was 5 years old. She was actually trying to teach my older cousin, but I’m the one that ended up picking it up. Out of 10 cousins, I believe I am the only one who learned to crochet.
The funny thing is, my grandma was left handed. She taught me to crochet with my left hand. But at some point, I switched to the right hand (my dominant hand) and now can’t crochet any other way.
Crocheting has been a skill I’ve enjoyed for so many reasons. For years I have wanted to be able to teach people. So, while I’m attempting to teach you the skill of crocheting, I’m also learning how to navigate the world of YouTube and videos!
