Tis the seas to stock up on pool noodles for DIY pool noodle wreath forms! At only $1 each, pool noodles make cheap and easy wreath forms for DIY wreaths. www.domesticdeadline.com

Once upon a time, in a land not so far away, I would have considered myself terrible at making wreaths. As in, just a few months ago during the 12 Days of Christmas… I was almost in tears over the wreath challenge! But, I powered through it and even made mini wreaths for my kitchen cabinet doors. My confidence in wreath making improved leaps and bounds when I decided to tackle a spring wreath for my front door. I am now a self-proclaimed certified expert! Ok, I certified myself… but I’m proud to be certifiable!!! So, when I shared my DIY flag wreath last week, I was surprised at the reaction to the pool noodle. I figured everyone knew the pool noodle wreath form trick.

Apparently not. So today I’ll share how easy and inexpensive this trick is.

RUN to Dollar Tree

Seriously, don’t walk. It’s almost July and pool noodles are a seasonal thing. I should know, every year when we get up to the lake in July the kids ask me to get new pool noodles… they are impossible to find then.

And, at one dollar each, you can afford to snatch up several so you have them on hand for all your seasonal wreath making needs.

Half-dozen minimum… and since a good sized wreath form runs about $6 in the craft stores, it’s a real bang for your buck.

Grab some duct tape while you’re there if you don’t already have some on hand or recently used it up trying to stop a leak in a drainage pipe… (who, me?)

Super Human Strength

Yes, this is the hardest part of the entire project. Bending that pool noodle into a circle.

Ok, not really, but keeping it together with one hand while you duct tape the joint is definitely easier with 2 people. But I still do this myself every time.

Because I have to use my muscles for something!

More Power

I mean duct tape.

The picture above is not enough. Make sure it overlaps so the wreath doesn’t pop apart… it’s kinda discouraging when you’re almost done with the wreath and the tape pops… a quick wreath just doubled the required time.

Pick Your Battles

Lots of duct tape becomes a lot harder to poke wired flowers through. Use a toothpick or skewer to poke a hole to push the flower through the duct tape.

Why are you still reading this… you should be running to the Dollar Tree right now!

Oh, you don’t have a Dollar Tree near you? Well, as of writing this, Dollar Tree has $4.95 flat rate shipping. So if you order a dozen pool noodles, they are still less than $1.50 each and still a huge savings! I’ve even included a handy-dandy affiliate link at no extra cost to you, just making it easier on you because I love my readers.

I love using the artificial flowers from Dollar Tree in wreaths. They may not look exactly like the real thing, but the price is right, especially for something that may be affected by weather. I currently may or may not have a whole case of artificial flowers in my shopping cart…
