Summer life truly starts for me when I arrive at Linwood. Time stops and life just becomes so much simpler and sweeter! Kids have freedom to be kids and parents feel like kids again too.
While I don’t really consider myself a stay at home mom anymore, I love having the freedom to work from anywhere. Sand between my toes, loving life is my idea office any day of the year. Being away from home, I won’t be getting much accomplished there, but I’ve been writing more already. I might not be working on my own home improvement projects or working my part time contractor gig while I’m here, but I’ve still got a list of projects to work on.
Right now my summer project list includes:
- things for our cottage (refinishing a few dressers)
- kitchen back splashes in two other cottages
- freshening up a spare bathroom at my sister’s
- driftwood decor (depends on what I find on the beach!)
Honestly, the weather will have a big factor in what and how much I do. If it’s beautiful, I’ll probably be at the beach, but on rainy days, I at least have a starting point.
Check out some of my past summer projects and posts at the lake:
- Driftwood
- Tie Dye
- Beach house bedroom
- Dresser makeover – stripes and music
- Kitchen backsplash
- Distressed dresser
- Driftwood fish
Then again, I may be perfectly content to ride my bike and soak in some of the amazing sunsets over the water. And if all else fails, I’ll be happily reading Hello Linwood for the 100th time with my kids. I may be a bit bias, being related to the author, illustrator and designer (sis, mom and sis) but it’s a great book for kids of all ages!
How do you spend your summers?
