Echoes in Paper
A community memory project by Emily Harper Fish
The Linwood Bell has been part of Linwood Park since 1884 — and Linwood Bell memories are some of the most meaningful this community holds. For my MFA thesis, I’ve been researching the history of the bell and the five towers that have housed it over the years — and building paper models of each one.
But the best history doesn’t always live in archives. It lives in the memories of the people who were there.
I’m collecting stories, photos, and Linwood Bell memories — big moments and small ones. The sound of it ringing for church. A story of prank night with the bell. A memory passed down from a grandparent. A photo you found in a box. Anything that helps tell the larger story of this bell and this Linwood Park community.
